Kantha Blankets

Kantha is one of the oldest forms of embroidery in the world, originating in the Bengali region of the Indian subcontinent — present day West Bengal, Odisha and Bangladesh. Its origins trace back to the pre-Vedic age, before 1500 BCE.

The word kantha refers both to the running stitch itself and to the finished cloth. Traditionally it was made by women of all rural classes — layering worn saris and stitching them together by hand into quilts for family use. A craft of thrift, patience and artistry passed from mother to daughter across generations.

The Lohori or Wave kantha — one of the most celebrated forms — takes its name from the Bengali word for waves. Its flowing, rippling stitch was traditionally made for weddings and special occasions.

Each kantha is unique. The small irregularities in the stitching are not flaws — they are the signature of the hand that made it.

Small runs. Some found, some designed - annually sourced or created with artisans in India.

HOUSE COATS

The House Coat; a garment with a long memory.

The quilted coat has dressed Indian courts since the Mughal era — the choga, the angarkha, the achkan — each a study in how cloth, cut, and craft could carry both comfort and ceremony. Worn at the threshold between private and public, interior and exterior. Neither one thing or the other. Exactly where we like to be.

Our House Coats are made in Rajasthan from hand block-printed cotton, hand quilted by the same artisans who have held this tradition for generations. Cut loose. Cut long. Designed to be lived in day or night.

Housecoats - Hand-quilted, generously cut, drawn from Maharaja tradition for true luxury is how you move when no one sees!

Pyjamas - Hand-block printed cottons to pure silk - for the moments that belong entirely to you.

Nightdresses - Indian-inspired cuts that carry you from day to night, from beach to bed.

Homeware -Sourced across India for beauty, utility, ritual, and craft.

SLEEPWEAR

Pyjama is an Indian word. Paijama — leg garment. Worn across the Indian subcontinent for centuries as everyday dress, adopted by the West as nightwear in the nineteenth century and never returned.

Our nightdresses are cut from the kurta — the long, fluid shape that has dressed Indian women for millennia. Our pyjama sets follow the original cut: easy, unhurried, considered enough to wear beyond the bedroom.

Pure cotton. Pure silk. Hand block-printed. Made in Rajasthan worn worldwide.
