The Chevron Kantha Blanket
Kantha is named for its stitch — a simple running thread, drawn by hand across layers of cloth, that over time becomes something structural and alive.
Here it is worked into a near-chevron: soft geometry, unhurried, slightly imperfect in the way that only handmade things can be.
Soft blue, warm red, and a perfect off-white — colours that have lived together long enough to belong.
The cloth carries a beautifully worn quality — not distressed, not manufactured.
This is not a factory object. It was made by women, in the tradition of women — kantha being one of the oldest forms of textile craft in the subcontinent, born from the practice of layering worn saris or recycling cloth into something new and useful and beautiful.
Technique: Hand kantha stitch, running thread.
Origin: West Bengal, India.
Made by: Women, living craft tradition.
